Just a few of the many rooms and furnishings that captivated me during my visit to Palm Springs during Modernism Week. The design is very different than what we do in Chicago for a few reasons. Obviously the weather plays a big role in their design. With warm weather most days, walls are replaced by sliding glass windows that open up to create an indoor/outdoor living space. Also, the light has a quality that lends itself to bright, happy colors and true whites.
